What I Eat to Stay Slim
I recently filmed a video on Youtube about what I eat to stay healthy, I made the stupid mistake of calling it what I eat to stay slim. I wouldn't class myself as slim I'm not obese but I'm certainly not the weight I would like to be.
In the video I'd been to Tesco and bought a few items they included, buckwheat, peppers, vegetable couscous, dark chocolate and orange rice cakes and galaxy caramel balls. I'd never tired buckwheat before and I weren't really a fan of couscous but it actually turned out nice.
I made stuffed peppers stuffed with the wheat and couscous with a few sprinkles of basil and garlic, I tired to roast my pepper in the oven but that didn't do much it just heated it up and made the sides soft, but apart from that it was nice and I will be making it again for sure.
I do try to be healthy when I can but like I said in the video everyone loves a bit of chocolate and sweets I know I do, but I also know their not the best things for you and too much of a good thing is bad for your body so I try to keep everything in moderation.

Winter bits
I recently went to Forever 21 for a few winter pieces, my aim was to find a new winter coat as November is approaching and it's getting that tiny bit colder but I didn't manage to find out so I picked up a few bits instead.
First of all the white beanie, I'm a really big fan of beanies so this is perfect for me it was only £2.99 so very cheap. I picked white because it goes with everything and I've been really into neutral colours recently greys, blacks, creams, it's very rare that I'll wear a bright colour for example yellow or red as their just not my thing. The beanie will go with almost anything, personally I'd wear it with a leather jacket and leggings or jeans and a layered jumper.
Next item is the scarf, this is amaaazing!! it was £1.99 so an actual bargain, and it's massive it's very thick, woolly material. I've been wearing this everyday when I've been going out just thrown over a coat or a top for a casual look.
I hope this inspired someone to do some winter shopping cause lets be honest it's the best time of year.

Fall Tag
I love Autumn it's one of the nicest seasons in the year, the leaves change colour and everything becomes a little colder.
I've decided to do the I heart Fall tag because it's one of my favorites and I love reading other people's and watching videos, so here goes..
1) Favorite fall lip product? Mines deffo my new lipstick by Natural Collection in Crimson I think it's a perfect blood red it's not too dark so it can be worn everyday, I think it's going to be a winter one as well.
2) Favorite fall nail polish? I'm not a big fan of nail polish because my job doesn't allow me to and it's a pain having to remove then reapply but if I had to choose it would be Purple.
3) Favorite fall drink? Hot chocolate! especially with marshmallows and cream I'm a big fan of the Costa one's.
4) Favorite fall candle? Salted Caramel by Yankee Candles, this is my fave because it's got a really strong smell, compared to the other one's I've tired. It's a very Christmassy/wintery smell. Perfect for them cold rainy days.
5) Favorite fall accessory? It has to be a big thick chunky scarf with hat, I love accessories more then clothes. Another fave is a pair of Ugg boots.
6) Haunted, house, corn ride or hayride? Haunted house without a doubt, I have no idea what the other two are because I'm not American but I'd love to go to a proper haunted house one Halloween.
7) Favorite Halloween movie? I love horrors anything with ghosts or a good murder, anything scary suits me fine. I love the paranormal activities, and wanna go and see the new film Annabelle.
8) Favorite Halloween candy? Omg who doesn't love trick or treating! Anything goes when it comes to sweets I'm a proper pie and I've gotta baaaad sweet tooth.
9) What are you dressing up as? Think I'm a bit old now for dressing up but I'd defiantly be a dead school girl.
10) What is your favorite thing about fall? I love it when the leaves change colour to a orangery green, the weather leaves summer and becomes a bit more chiller and its a little bit closer to Christmas!

Blog Challenge day 2!
Second day of the Alex Beadon blog challenge ooo! Yesterday I was a bit mind stumped on how to talk about myself which I'm sure like everyone else is it is a proper challenge itself.
Here goes day two
1. What’s the story behind why you do what you do?
The story about me is just like any normal person but even the most normal person has gone through things in their life to make them do what their doing now. Soo here's mine,
I love fashion, reading and cooking. If I could have a career in any of those I would jump at the chance. These are my passions in life. Fashion I feel because when you wear a great outfit it shows you feel better about yourself, you stand up a bit straighter, and your confidence can go from one to ten. It's a great way to express who you are as an individual, and there's no right or wrong way of doing it. I really love winter fashion, thick scarfs woolly hats and fluffy jumpers, and a huugee coat.
I also really love shoes high heels aren't really my thing unless I'm going out somewhere fancy but I mostly prefer a nice pair of converse or boots. Reading is another things I've loved this ever since I was a kid and still do now, I love escaping in a story of someone else's life for a moment and getting to explore their stories. I also love getting a good book and a hot cuppa and just reading for ages (When I have the time!) or finishing a book until the end because you can't put it down. I used to write lots of little stories when I was about 7 and used to think they would actually be published! Next Jaqueline Wilson over here, I think not.
Another one of my passions is cooking and baking, I didn't used to like cooking when I was younger but since I've started to learn what's healthy and what's not. Its became a real obsession to cook and eat good foods, and for others to do the same. Why would you purposely want to put something bad into your body which you know isn't good for you. Now I sound like a crank who doesn't love a good treat but believe me I do. Dark chocolate is my favourite along with marshmallows and a nice thick hot chocolate topped with cream.
My other favourite thing to do within cooking is baking. Anything from cakes, cookies and cupcakes, smores are my absolute favourite though, I love baking because I love the feeling after you create something new and see it come fresh out of the oven and the fact you can't make the same thing twice cause one cupcake will be made differently from another.
I proper love doing this blogging challenge it's actually really fun and I highly recommend it to anyone starting their blog.

Blog Challenge!
I've decided to do take the Alex Beadon's blog challenge! which means for seven days I have to write something new everyday, I'm a little bit nervous about doing it but I'll try my best! Here goes..
1. Who are you?
My name is Melissa, I'm from Liverpool In England which is near Manchester. I didn't realise how hard this would actually be! talking about myself isn't something I'm used so my minds gone blank! My favourite music is whatever's in the charts really, I love Ed Sheeran and the 1975 also a bit of One Direction. I like horror films especially ones with ghosts and stuff in like Paranormal Activities and The Purge.
2. Why did you start blogging?
I started my blog Bake&Blush cause I liked reading other peoples blogs and idea's and thought why not make my own, I think I'm an okay writer certainly not the best. I like the idea of having your own little space on the internet to talk about whatever you fancy.
3. Who is your blog for?
Anyone who wants to read it, I think people who have the same interests as me so fashion, make up, reading and cooking. I don't have a targeted age range or anything like that because it's not a business and I'm not selling anything to anyone it's a bit of fun, something to read with a cuppa tea in hand.
My blog is for people like me who like reading, watching videos and learning about people and new things.
4. What’s something you’ve been working on lately that you’re REALLY proud of?
This! it took me a while to get things up and running and get my head around it all, as well as make a half decent blog. I think its okay up to now, I'd love to get it looking really fancy at some point. I think that's a long way off yet though.
5.What’s the ONE MESSAGE that you hope people take away from your blog?
I can relate to that, I hope people read this and think I can relate to that in some way, as that's what I like to do when reading/watching something. If I can relate to a person it makes them feel more like a friend then just reading something of the internet.

Natural Collection Lipstick Review
Moisture Shine in Crimson
I was a bit wary of buying one of the Natural Collection lipsticks at first, because I'd heard lots of bad reviews saying how it breaks quickly and the packaging isn't the best, but I'd thought I would give one a try and see if I liked it or not.
I picked up the Moisture Shine in the colour Crimson, and I can happily say it's one of the nicest red's I've got! and I own loaads of reds.
It's a very dark red, definitely a winter/autumn shade it's not too bright so it can be worn as an everyday lipstick. The packaging isn't great just a plain white plastic doesn't seem that sturdy but you get what you pay for, I just hope it doesn't split in half like I've heard their prone to do.
When you first apply it, it does seem creamy but it dries to a matte finish the only dislike I have to it is that it can leave the lips flaky especially if it's been on a while. For only £1.99 I can't really complain though and I will for sure be purchasing some more colours.
I bought this in Boots but it's available in any beauty shop, Superdrug, Asda e.g

Book Review
Can You Keep a Secret by Sophie Kinsella
When I first got this book I was a bit apprehensive, I'd read a few chic light reads like this before and they were okay nothing to write home about. I had read the reviews on Amazon and EBay and they seemed positive so I bought the book.
The main character Emma Corrigan, is instantly relatable, she is a normal 25 year old who has a few secrets nothing major. She has a office job working for Panter Cooperation and she's trying to build her way up the career ladder for that long awaited promotion.
At the start of the story she's in a relationship with Connor and to everyone they seem the perfect couple but to Emma something's missing and she isn't sure what, until she meets a handsome shy stranger on the plane. During her flight the plane has turbulence which causes Emma to panic and spill all her secrets to the stranger unaware that they may met again..
The first parts of the book are funny and I think any women can relate to feeling insecure and jealous at times. I found parts of book a bit bland to read at times but it wasn't too bad.
My favourite parts of the book were when she tried to spice up her sex life by trying to seduce Connor in a spare room in work, another time was when she made a show of herself in the meeting with the company executive.
I was not expecting the twist in the middle though! What a actual shocker. From the start you get one idea of Jack that he's a proper nice person, only to find out he's a proper snake and you shouldn't trust everyone even when you think you can.
Once Jack spills all of Emma's secrets live on television she feels as if she's been used as research to sell a new product this part makes you doubt Jack because you feel as if that's the truth and that's what he planned to do all along when in fact this isn't the case.
At the end everything I once thought about Jack changes because he opens up and realises what he's done, I actually felt a bit sorry for him.
I really liked this book and couldn't put it down to be honest I didn't think I'd enjoy it would I did and will be purchasing another book by Sophie Kinsella very soon! I would deffo recommend this book to anyone looking for a funny light hearted read.

Changes
After so many times of changing my header and deciding on the perfect background I think (for now) I've created a nice one it took so long to find what fits best and what colours go with what.
Hopefully I stick with it and we'll see how long it lasts until I'm bored and what something new, I'm also trying to figure all of this out and how to make my blog look nice as I'm not expert its a bit tricky.
I'm one of those people who change their mind constantly and get bored very quickly but I'm also not the most creative person in the world but I tried my best.
That's all for now
P.S ill also be posting every Sunday, Monday and Friday :)

Little bits from Boohoo
Now it's Autumn now I was in desperate need of a good pair of winter boots after browsing through the likes of Topshop and River Island I went on Boohoo and found these..
They are available in black and tan I chose black because lets face it black goes with everything, their twenty pounds and have a chunky heel which is only small so their easy to walk in. Their a tiny bit big for me but they didn't have any smaller sizes so I think wore with a thick pair of socks they should be fine, I'll probably wear them with thick tights or leggings and a jumper and a leather jacket and maybe a nice scarf for a nice casual look.
These are £20 so there a proper bargain if your looking for something cheap and cheerful.
Another wintery item I bought was a slouchy white hat, this is also perfect for winter because it's made from wool so nice and cosy.
I also like this hat because it's not one that sticks to your head and gives you hat hair like a beanie, its a bit more roomy and because it's made from wool it has tiny air gaps , its perfect for them frizzy hair days you can just lash it on and go.
Anything could be worn with this within reason I wouldn't go out in a summer dress cause it would look a show, I think this with a thick coat, them boots and maybe a skater skirt and a nice top would look fab.
This was £4 so another bargain

What I'd tell my younger self
I was 16 three years ago so in 2011, and I would say I have changed a lot. I liked school it was just a normal experience for me I had friends and relationships like most people do and it was bearable.
I had a close group of friends about four girls I'd hang around with on a daily basis it wasn't until after I'd left school and everyone's like 'Oh we'll keep in touch!' which never happens unless their your soul mate or something.
I also had a few relationships when I was younger too one of them taught me what I now want and look for in a relationship. Back then I was young, stupid and very very naive I wouldn't listen to anything I was told because I had my love goggles on and everything was perfect, which obviously it was far from.
If I could go back and tell myself anything it would be to not have a boyfriend until after I left school, or if I do don't have one for a long period of time. That relationship lasted two and a half years! What was I thinking?
After a few hard life lessons I realised that life wasn't all bad so I started college.
At sixteen I didn't have a clue what I was going to do with myself I weren't even sure who I was, it felt like all my friends were doing this and that and had everything mapped out and there I was still confused. I started going to College and things seemed okay.
If I actually could go back in time I'd tell myself to work harder in school and get the best results in every subject that I could and not too worry to much about my problems such as not talking to my bezzie that day cause we fell out, there are much bigger problems out there!
I think everyone's still a bit unsure of where their going in life I still am unless you have your life set and mapped out who know's what will happen?
